In this COVID-19 series video #4, Peter McCue from the NSW Office of Sport chats with Associate Professor Matthew Burke from the Cities Research Institute Griffith University about the COVID-19 impacts on active travel. Dr Burke shares insights on:

  • The importance of local design to encourage more walking and cycling
  • Tactical urbanism providing short-term opportunities to reclaim road space for active travel
  • E-bike usage is increasing globally for local trips and freight as well
