Scaling up Physical Activity SIG

Scaling Up Physical Activity SIG

The SUPA SIG will provide an integrated research-practice platform by connecting academics, practitioners and policy-makers across multidisciplinary sectors to advance population physical activity promotion.

Implementation and scale up challenges transcend domains and settings. Focus within the SIG will be flexible enough to reflect the interest and priority areas of the members, however, a multidisciplinary perspective will be encouraged. Themes and areas of interest within the SUPA SIG may include, but are not limited to:

  • Dissemination and implementation science – e.g., spread, scale up and sustainability
  • Practice implementation – e.g., challenges, strategies, decision making processes
  • Systems science approaches and methodologies
  • Research-practice partnerships, co-production, participatory research
  • Equity and diversity in implementation and scale up
  • Policy implementation
  • Implementation theory, models and frameworks
  • Research design, measurement, tools and analysis, evaluation
