International Symposium on Physical Activity and Health

The Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity (ASPA), in collaboration with the School of Physical Education at Shenzhen University, China, is pleased to announce the International Symposium on Physical Activity and Health, to be held on September 29, 2024. This hybrid symposium, offering both in-person attendance at Shenzhen University and online participation options, will delve into critical topics such as “Physical Activity and Physical Health” and “Physical Activity and Mental Health”.

The morning session (9:00-12:00 CST, in English) will feature three keynote presentations:

  • Professor Jo Salmon: “The 16-year journey from RCT, to effectiveness and implementation at scale and beyond: TransformUs whole-school physical activity program”;
  • Associate Professor Verity Cleland: “Using citizen science to better understand walkability in rural communities”;
  • Associate Professor Yanping Duan: “Effects of innovative physical exercise modalities on depressive symptoms in community-dwelling older adults: findings from two randomized controlled trials”.

The Afternoon session (14:00-17:00 CST, Chinese) will feature four keynote presentations:

  • Professor Chenglin Zhou: “Cognitive Processing Characteristics of Emotional Regulation in Habitual Exercisers During Aerobic Exercise”
  • Professor Yiqun Gan: “Writing Psychology Papers from the Perspective of Author, Reviewer, and Editor: Preregistration, Data, and Experimental Materials Sharing”
  • Professor Qi Chen: Title To Be Determined
  • Professor Jun Yan: “Physical Activity and Brain Health”
