Travel to Perth
International visitor visa
All international tourists require a valid visa to be granted entry into Australia. Please check which visa is relevant for you here: Explore visa options for visiting (homeaffairs.gov.au).
Airport transfers
The city centre is a 20-30 minute taxi ride (12 km) from Perth Airport, with public transport options also available.
For all train journeys, passengers will require either a SmartRider or a paper ticket. SmartRider’s can be purchased ($10 card fee) at various outlets, including Perth Airport Terminal 1. Paper tickets can be bought at most large train stations. Paper tickets can be bought with cash only (no change provided) on buses. The Airport line trains operate every 12 minutes in peak, every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night. From Terminal 1 and 2 (domestic & international): Follow signs to the Skybridge walkway to reach Airport Central Station. Take the ‘Airport Line’ to Perth Train Station (approx. 25 minutes, fare around $4.90 AUD). Perth Train Station is adjacent to the Perth Cultural Centre (i.e., conference venue). From Terminal 3 and 4 (domestic): The train station is not connected to the airport. Instead, passengers should exit the airport terminal and catch the Transperth bus to Redcliffe Train Station (Bus Route 292, every 12 minutes during peak times). Bus Route 292 is a circular service between Redcliffe Train Station and the terminals’ pick-up and drop-off area. From Redcliffe Train Station, trains run into the city on the ‘Airport Line’ to Perth Train Station (approx. 25 minutes, fare around $4.90 AUD).
