What is ASPA Radio?

ASPA Radio is a podcast brought to you by the ASPA Communications Committee. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of our members in a short format digestible to non-experts.

How can I get involved?

We Need Your Voice!

If you have published some work or completed a project in the last 12 months – we want to hear from you. Here’s how you can contribute:

Send us an audio file answering these questions:

1. Briefly introduce yourself and your work: Tell us about you and your study or project. What’s the backstory? What inspired you to embark on this journey?
2. What did you do and what did you find: What were your research methods or what actions did you take as part of a project, and what were the outcomes? Remember, the most compelling stories often lie in the journey and findings.
3. What was the Impact: Why does your work matter? Connect the dots between your findings and their significance to our field, society, or specific communities.
4. What’s next: Based on what you’ve learned, what comes next? Have you raised any questions that future work should explore, share your vision for the future of research or practice in our field.

Tips for Creating a Quality Submission:

Keep It Concise: Aim for a total recording time of 5 minutes. This brevity ensures your core message shines through.

Speak Clearly and Passionately: Your target audience should be non-experts. Imagine you’re explaining your work to a curious friend unfamiliar with the jargon. Simplify complex concepts without oversimplifying your valuable contributions.

Quality Counts: Use a quiet room with soft furnishings and a good microphone. Speak directly into the mic, and do a test recording first to check the sound levels and clarity.

Due to limited capacity, not all submissions will be converted into an episode.
